partnership brings new program to Haywood County

Haywood County Public Library, Family Place Library

Region A Partnership for Children is thrilled that our partnership with Haywood County Public Library has come to fruition to bring Family Place Library to Canton.

Family Place Library is a program that focuses on helping libraries become a center for early learning, parent and family support programs, and connecting to the community.

This partnership was born in 2018, thanks to our wonderful Board of Directors who approved funding this program with Smart Start project funds. Through these funds, grants, and determination, we provided training and materials to bring this program to western North Carolina. Under the direction of the Canton Library staff, the 123 Play With Me Family Place Library program has developed into an important resource for children and families.

RAPC congratulates the Canton Library on their official designation as the first Family Place Library in North Carolina. We are excited about the opportunity this brings to children and families in Haywood County.
