It’s Smart Start Month and we want to honor champions throughout our region.
From September 18-October 14, we are asking community members throughout our region to submit nominations for the champions who do great things for children.
From the nominations, each of our seven county and the Qualla Boundary Smart Start teams will vote on their champion of choice to receive a gift card. Additionally, a grant from the Carolina Mountain Trust for Children and Youth will be awarded to the Champion’s preferred charitable organization that is serving children and youth. In total, eight gift cards and eight grants will be awarded based on the voting process of the Smart Start teams.
Written nominations should highlight the service, advocacy and/or investment of the individual that has had a positive impact in their community by supporting children and families over time.
Contact information for nominated champions should be included for notification purposes.
Nominations must be received by Monday, October 14, and awards will be announced at the end of October.
